📸 Photo Update Notice: We will be re-shooting our yarn photos soon to better reflect the matte finish of this new acrylic rug yarn. Some current photos may show a slight sheen from our older acrylic range, but the colors are fully accurate.
If you are unsure, feel free to wait for the updated photos — but rest assured the colour tones shown are correct.
This is our brand-new 100% Acrylic Rug Yarn, created specifically for rug making and fibre artists. Unlike standard acrylic knitting yarns, this fibre has a stronger internal structure and does not sag when tufted. The strands stay straight and create a firmer, more stable rug surface with excellent durability.
We offer this acrylic rug yarn as an affordable, durable option for rug makers, providing excellent structure and a clean, crisp finish. Knitting yarns are soft, lightweight, and drapey — perfect for garments, but not created for rugs. When used for tufting, they can compact, lose height, and wear down quickly, especially in high-traffic areas.
By contrast, this tightly wound 3-ply acrylic is engineered to stay upright, stable, and resilient — ideal for floor rugs, heavy-use textiles, high-traffic areas, and long-lasting fibre art projects.

Note about discounts: All Things EFFY often runs site-wide sales. Bulk order discount codes do not stack with sale discounts. During site-wide sales, the bulk codes are automatically adjusted so you always receive the best available discount. Generally, the bulk order discount codes are reduced to 5% during site-wide sales.
🎨 Dye Lot Notice: Please ensure you purchase enough yarn for your project, as we cannot guarantee that additional cones will be available from the same dye lot. Dye lot numbers are printed on the SKU/barcode label of each cone for your reference.
While color differences between dye lots are usually subtle to the eye, they can become more noticeable once tufted, appearing as slight tonal shifts between sections. For this reason, we highly recommend buying enough yarn upfront.
As a general guideline, a 20 × 20 inch (50 × 50 cm) tufted area typically uses approximately 0.55 lb (250 g) of yarn.
I love this new acrylic yarn as a cheaper alternative to wool. It way stiffer than store bought acrylic so it shaves well and holds its structure. The only thing I noticed were a lot of factory knots in each cone of yarn yarn which was a bit annoying as I kept having to cut them out as I was tufting. Will be re-purchasing this again
