Buy Rug Tufting Gun
When you browse our tufting guns, you will see different models at varying price points. What is the difference between these tufting guns, however? Here are the main things to look out for:
Pile height – rug tufting guns are manufactured to create a certain pile height. Some will only create cut pile, others will only create loop piles, while there are others that will create both.
Ease of use – some rug tufting guns are easier to use than others. On each product description page, we give an indication of what you can expect in terms of ease of use so you can choose the right product for your level of experience.
Speed range – most of the rug tufting guns that we offer have adjustable speeds in the range of five to 45 stitches per second.
Power – most of the rug tufting guns we supply are electrically powered.
Best Quality Tufting Guns
You will find several types of rug tufting gun in our range. Most are made by the leading manufacturer in the industry. This is important as there are many inferior imitations on the market that don't deliver the same level of performance, durability, or reliability. Trust us, it is highly frustrating when your tufting gun breaks in the middle of the rug you are making!
We do also offer cheaper models of tufting gun at All Things Effy, but there are two important points to remember. The first is that we spend considerable time sourcing, testing, and checking all the products that we list on our website. Only those that meet our strict standards make it onto the All Things Effy Store.
The second is that we are completely upfront and honest at all times. If the product you are looking at is not from the leading brand in the industry, we'll make that clear in the product description, so you know exactly what you are getting.

Difference Between Cut Pile and Loop Pile Tufting Guns
One of the main differences between tufting guns is whether they are cut pile or loop pile. What does this difference mean?
A cut pile tufting gun includes a scissor. This scissor cuts the loop immediately after it has been created. A loop pile tufting gun doesn't have this scissor feature, so it leaves a loop when tufting through the fabric. You would usually then manually cut each loop after you complete a lane of tufting.
What about tufting guns that offer both cut pile and loop pile? These guns have scissors that can cut the loops as you go, but the scissors can be deactivated if you want to create a loop pile.
What is a Tufting Gun and How Does it Work?
Tufting guns are handheld machines used to make rugs. They are popular in the arts and crafts industry and are used by people making rugs for family and friends as well as to be sold online and in other marketplaces.
There are other ways of making rugs, but using a tufting gun is quicker, plus a tufting gun is usually less costly than other rug-making equipment.
They operate a bit like a sewing machine. The tufting gun touches the backing material of the rug, and a large needle then pushes the yarn through. The yarn left on the other side by this action creates either a loop pile or cut pile.
